A Viveport subscription for the first month is free

Vive gave presents for VR users at the celebration of the consumer version release.

In the beginning of 2016, Vive integrated a new method of monetization to make legal VR content more available to users. The company proposed the Viveport Subscription, a subscription to the software store “Viveport.”

Viveport, like Steam, distributes apps, games and multimedia content for Vive headsets. Now users have the opportunity to pay only $7 per month and choose five VR apps out of 50. Moreover, every four weeks a player can change their selection and grow their library. Another advantage is that this services comes with a one-month free trial.

“Launch day titles include favorites such as TheBlu, Everest VR, Mars Odyssey, Apollo 11 VR, Fantastic Contraption and many more” — was written on Vive’s blog.

In addition, the company gives a pack of three Saga Arcade games as a gift, which usually costs $20, and a $100 discount on the Vive headset. This fact will increase the competition between the HTC Vive, the Rift (who knocked $100 off last month) and the PlayStation VR (noted best ratio price and content quality).
