Facebook Spaces

Social network called “Spaces” launched by Facebook in beta last month, is already available in Oculus store.

The new app enables users to choose their virtual avatar. Scrolling Facebook photos, user selects an image by tapping on it. The app then combines three-dimensional models with visual images to create a virtual avatar. When this is done, the next step is to change the avatar’s appearance by editing his/her eye color, hairstyle, and other features.

Now you can invite and interact with your Facebook friends in VR. Together you can chat, view spherical photos and videos. You can take selfies together. The app allows you to invite or unfriend people, and to become invisible for other users.

“Spaces” app is available to all users of Oculus Rift withTouch controllers. Some experts think that it is unlikely that a mobile version developed for Gear Vr and similar will appear in the nearest future: due to the technical characteristics moving around the room is extremely limited.
