Google Announces New VR Camera

As developers argue, the new Google camera JUMP is lighter and smaller than the previous devices. This novelty is called YI HALO and is based on the action-camera YI Technology, a subsidiary of the company Xiaomi. This innovative gadget will help to easily create 360 videos of high quality.

“We worked from the ground up to meet the promise and challenge VR poses for creators to craft truly immersive experiences. It is the first Jump camera with an up camera (total of 17 unit cameras), allowing users to experience the scene in every direction without missing a thing.” — the official website explains.

This gadget consists of 17 4k YI Action cameras in ring shape. The ring size and the location of the camera matched with the Jump collector parameters. One of the cameras, “Up” as it is called, is placed in a center of the circle and directed to the sky, allowing to film what’s above the viewer.

In addition to the camera Goggle is announcing Jump Start — a program, which will offer its creators free units for 360 videos. The program Jump Start is free. Selected filmmakers will be provided with these new cameras and with free unlimited access to a cloud-based production tools, Jump Assembler. Next year content creators will receive more than a hundred YI of HALO. You can apply until 22 May.
