In China schools start using VR for lessons

Two Pekin companies, Bluefocus E-Commerce Co., Ltd and Bokan Wisdom Mobile Internet Technology Training, tested 40 children from different capital schools. Experimental classes were equipped with HTC Vive VR helmets. Students used it during one of their lessons.

“Compared with traditional education, VR-based education is an obvious advantage in teaching theoretical knowledge concepts as well as practical skills training,” one report documents.

The experiment’s results are impressive. The levels of assiduity and educability have increased, and perception of information is nearly perfected. According to the statistics, students, who used HTC, showed better results than those who chose a traditional method. For example, the average learning index of traditional classes is 73%, for VR classes it was 93%. Needless to say VR technology greatly helps in the education sphere. Children, who explored VR for themselves, delighted in the experience.

The same experiment took place in Saint-Petersburg, Russia. In high school, Piligrim XXI, one class was taking a history lesson and thanks to the VR helmets and smartphones, the students were immersed in the second world war.

“They saw the caravans of trucks with goods and people who had to overcome the difficulties of WWII” — said the project’s director, Ilya Korguzalov.

In St. Petersburg the result was just as amazing as it was in China.
