3dRudder. Foot controller

Technologies allowing for free movement of users within VR reality are developing extremely fast. 3dRudder is “a foot-powered controller”, that helps its players move as in real life: walk, run, ski, drive a car or even a tank.

According to their official website, 3dRudder offers a new way to move in VR. By adjusting the pressing force on the foot-powered controller, users can choose the comfortable speed of moving, turn around, and go up or down. The gadget can be used alone or be combined with other controllers. During the setup process you can turn foot controller into a second keyboard or a joystick.

The device is compatible with VR and PC games.
“Essentially, it works by plugging into your PC and acting like a giant, glorified, foot-controlled analog stick. I lean my feet forward, my character moves forward. Lean back, they move backwards.”—Wrote David Jagneaux in his review.

Some users noted that 3dRudder is a great device but there is not need to use it all the time. It’s a great choice for people who experience motion sickness during the VR experience, and for those who do not have the opportunity for the proper room-scale setup. For everyone else, it’s just a nifty new gadget.
